Understanding that every client will have different needs, especially in terms of support and the exploration of addiction, A Forever Recovery strives to provide many options in counseling. Apart from the core foundation offered through AFR’s Moral Reconation Therapy approach, this facility offers clients counseling that can put them on the path they need to achieve recovery. For instance, clients may experience that they will benefit from:

Faith-based counseling, such as support coming from those who have worked in the Christian environment.

Progressive, structured counseling, such as those who offer guidance in relation to 12-step modalities.

Indigenous treatment counseling, a model that is tailored for those with unique spiritual needs and cultures, most notably those within the Native American community.

Cognitive-based counseling for those who wish to take a more internal, mental approach to their recovery.

Holistic counseling is available for those who wish to partake in a comprehensive method of recovery. AFR’s holistic track is one that involves addressing addiction from many perspectives, both of the mind and of the body. While individuals may benefit under direct counseling in holistic treatment, they may also seek out less commonplace forms of guidance such as through yoga and meditation classes, lectures from guests and Martial Arts instruction.

Large Variety of Counselors

The counselors found at A Forever Recovery do not all follow the same methods when it comes to how they help their clients move towards recovery. Seeing as how the AFR counselors come from a variety of backgrounds and modality education, the client has greater options when it comes to which approach will work best for them. Counselors often have a strong background in working in rehabilitation environments, such as those who have assisted in 12-step treatment centers, as well as faith-based facilities. Other counselors, who have experienced the damage of addiction and the promise of recovery firsthand, can offer personal insight to those clients who need support from one that they can relate to.

Individual Counseling

One-on-one counseling in a private setting is essential to helping therapists uncover the underlying factors that may have prompted a client’s addiction. While it may take some time, these counselors strive to establish trust and provide a comfortable atmosphere in which a client can become honest and discuss a variety of issues they have endured in life in connection to his or her addiction. With this knowledge and developing relationship, the therapist can assess the individual qualities that are most relevant to the client’s recovery. As such, individual therapy can provide a client with the tools and understanding of how they can avoid falling down the same path they did before.

Group Counseling

Although it may seem like a contradiction, many can pursue self-help treatment through the guidance of others in group counseling environments. Group counseling is available to AFR clients who wish to develop a strong support system in which they can participate in guided discussions with others who suffer from similar issues. Under the guidance of a designated therapist, groups in counseling can tackle difficult issues, achieve immense breakthroughs in recovery, as well as learn how to express their emotions and restore communication skills with others. These environments not only help one learn from the experiences of peers, but also help display that these individuals do not have to face recovery alone.

As every addict’s experience with drug or alcohol use is unique, it is noted that many can experience varying negative effects on the body. Depending on the substance of choice and the duration it was used, some abusers can incur serious damage to not only their mental health, but also that of their physical well-being. Optimal recovery and rehabilitation facilities are known to fully address this kind of damage and provide ways for the client to restore the health of his or her body.

Vitamins and Nutrients

Drug and alcohol abuse can lead to several deficiencies when it comes to one’s health, specifically lack of necessary vitamins and nutrients. This can occur for several reasons, some of which are either directly related to the actual substance or are indirectly associated with the external impact the addiction causes. For instance, those who are addicted to drugs that suppress appetite will most likely lose weight and continuously eat a low amount of food that is dangerous to one’s health; without a balanced and complete diet, one will not get the nutrients they need to function properly. In other cases, and vital organs can become damaged due to consistent drug use, making it more difficult for the body to produce the resources it needs.

In addition, many drugs can cause one to experience lack of sleep. This fatigue is one that impairs one’s ability to work, think and conduct regular activities. Unfortunately, many addicts turn to the substance to push through these symptoms, entering an endless cycle. After one is detoxed, it is important that they begin to adopt health nutritional habits and determine what specific vitamins he or she is lacking. Through steady consumption of these necessary components, one can return to a balanced health with confidence.

Fitness

Although a recently recovering addict may not feel empowered or have the strength to pursue rigorous exercise, it is important that that follow a path towards greater fitness. Many rehab facilities can experience better results among clients who exercise and participate in regular physical activities—even if the overall exertion is minimal. While these activities can boost one’s physical health, it can also prove a great way to relieve strength and restore self-confidence.

Massage Therapy and Acupuncture

The side effects of withdrawal can place an extreme amount of stress on a recovering addict’s body. While eliminating toxins and restoring physical health and strength are important, it is also essential that those in recovery facility receive therapy to resolve any tension or stress that may build up. As such, many have found that forms of massage therapy or acupuncture are beneficial to individuals who need to relax and focus on the long-term goals of recovery.

Many former addicts who are in recovery will note that the first steps towards overcoming substance abuse are the hardest. While accepting addiction requires the mental strength and commitment of an individual, the process of confronting it will place not only an emotional strain on the individual, but also a physical one. In order to properly assess every area of addiction and to achieve thorough recovery, addicts must first approach detoxification, which can create high-stress symptoms of withdrawal depending on the substance.

A Forever Recovery understands how painful this process can prove, especially if an addict is pursuing recovery after already attempting to receive help through other forms of treatment. As a facility that is committed to open-ended treatment, AFR offers flexibility and options when it comes to approaching the detoxification and withdrawal process.

The AFR Withdrawal Clinic

It is required that every new client to the facility first enter under a 24-hour observation period in the AFR withdrawal clinic. In this environment, a client will not only benefit for an initial evaluation but gain careful examination from a qualified Medical Director, who will determine what path of detoxification, is best for the individual. Depending on the results of the observation a client will either continue with medically supervised withdrawal or standard withdrawal.

Understanding the Substance’s Impact on Withdrawal

Depending on the type of substance, and individual may face different symptoms when their body stops consuming the drug or alcohol. Some substances can prove incredibly dangerous to one’s health if an individual stops taking it all at once. In these cases, the AFR Medical Director may prescribe a careful, medically supervised withdrawal to slowly bring the client off the substance. During medically supervised withdrawals, a client may gain further assistance from medications, such as methadone.

To further understand which situations are appropriate for each type of withdrawal, it is best to look at which substances are applicable to each scenario. The withdrawal symptoms commonly associated with alcohol and opiate abuse typically require the assistance of medication and supervision to help make sure the client remains safe. Other drugs, such as cocaine and marijuana, do not require much medical assistance during withdrawal and are more applicable under standard withdrawal. However, each situation is unique and will require official observation before a decision is made.

After Detoxification

It is important for the individual to prove that they have fully come off of a given substance in order to pursue further treatment, such as therapy and body fortification. AFR looks for three requirements to approve a client to move on to the next stages of recovery. Specifically, the client must not prove under the influence of a mood-altering substance, must prove free of any medical risk as a result of withdrawal or previous drug use, as well as prove that they are no longer suffering from any signs of withdrawal. Following this process, the client will move on to the primary care facility where they will have the ability to access many forms of therapy—both of a physical and mental nature. Under a state that is free of influence from a harmful substance, many will have the ability to make stronger repairs in their foundation through the activities offered at AFR.

Anyone who thinks an addict could simply use willpower to stop their addiction needs to understand how addiction begins and why addicts need professional help. With some substances being abused today, addiction can come into a person’s life even if he or she only uses the substance once. This is the case with many street drugs that are formulated to intentionally create immediate addiction. Also, many prescription pain medicines contain powerful chemicals that are extremely addictive.

An addiction is a physical and psychological problem that can destroy a person’s chances of excelling in any aspect of their life. An addiction can begin with one use, and in a few short weeks can turn into something out of the addict’s control. With repeated use of any drug, the user will eventually need more and more of the substance to achieve the desired effects, and this level of addiction will require professional treatment in order to cleanse the body and eliminate intense withdrawal symptoms.

Another example of how addiction begins is that many people use drugs or alcohol as an occasional social or recreational mood enhancer on the weekends or when they go to a certain friend’s house. Soon enough, once or twice a week simply is not enough and they progress to using more and more until they spend every dime that they make on obtaining drugs or alcohol, and spend most of their time getting high.

Without treatment for an addiction, side effects can become permanent and even fatal. Regardless of how addiction begins, A Forever Recovery can design a treatment program to address all aspects of your specific situation.

Rehabilitation for drug addiction is offered in every state in the United States. This process for addiction recovery is the long-term addiction recovery process known as residential rehabilitation for drug addiction. The residential rehabilitation for drug addiction process works by giving the addict several months of time apart from the stresses of living. During this process they will be tested and they will also be pushed to their limits on dealing with their addictions and obtaining a new drug free life.

Recovering One Day at a Time

While inside of rehabilitation for drug addiction, a recovering addict will go through daily seminars where he or she will talk to other addicts and their own personal addiction treatment counselor; this process in the rehabilitation for drug addiction can help the addict better understand their addiction and it can also give them the extra push they need in order to become and remain drug free. The counseling portion of rehabilitation for drug addiction can become a lifelong stage in addiction recovery for an addict if they choose too. They can incorporate this process into their life weekly, daily, or monthly depending on how strong their urge to use might be.

Dedicated and Personal Rehabilitation for Drug Addiction

Other than seminars, rehabilitation for drug addiction incorporates extracurricular activities, classroom settings, relaxation, meditation and one-on-one counseling as ways to help you as a recovering addict better overcome your addiction with little to no complications. During the entire process you will have total control over your addiction recovery and you are allowed to leave at any time. It is not the goal of the drug addiction counselors to force you into recovery, but to lead you towards recovery and, if you are not ready, hope when you choose to come back you will be able to complete the recovery process.

If you or someone you care for is addicted to drugs, consider rehabilitation for drug addiction at A Forever Recovery as a safe and promising solution to a life as a recovered addict today.

Rehabilitation programs are for individuals who need assistance overcoming an addiction or abuse of a substance. Rehabilitation centers and rehabilitation facilities are quite unique. Each center functions differently and each program is centered around the needs of the individual. All rehabilitation centers are different. The most common types of rehabilitation centers are inpatient centers and outpatient centers.

Organizing Your New Life with Inpatient Rehab

Inpatient rehabilitation centers require the individual to check in and stay for a certain amount of time to deal with detoxifying the body from the substance and to learn new skills to promote a drug-free life. Within inpatient rehabilitation centers, patients are given regimens involving very structured and organized environments and schedules. This is done so the person can adjust to a normal life without the use of the substance. It is possible that while addicted to drug or alcohol, structure and organization within the person’s life was lacking. Many inpatient facilities allow for individual and group therapy sessions while also giving the person an opportunity to partake in community involvement and also education classes.

Discover Which Rehabilitation Center is Right for You

Outpatient rehabilitation centers work in a different way. These centers allow the person to have more control over their recovery. These programs and centers are for individuals who can control their impulses and feel they are okay with living in their normal environments throughout recovery. In outpatient rehabilitation treatment, the person chooses what they want to attend and is entrusted to show up for appointments.

Each rehabilitation center is different. It is important for the person who is struggling with the addiction to carefully consider all options necessary for a successful recovery. At A Forever Recovery rehabilitation centers we offer programs that can be adapted to your specific needs. Call today to learn more about out services.

Prescription drug abuse is a growing problem and concern in the United States. Medication when prescribed and used appropriately can have positive results. However, when prescription drugs are misused and abused the end result can be fatal.

What is Prescription Drug Abuse?

Prescription drug abuse is defined as taking a prescription medication not prescribed to the individual and/or taking it for reasons or in large dosages other than prescribed. Misuse of prescription drugs cannot only lead to health issues but also to addiction. Because a large group of these drugs can alter the brain’s ability to function properly, these drugs can lead to a physical dependence.

Commonly abused or misused drugs include opioids (for pain relief), depressants (for anxiety and sleep problems), and stimulants (for ADHD). Long-term use of opioids or depressants of the central nervous system can lead to addiction. Opioids can cause drowsiness, constipation, and depressed breathing. Depressants slow down the ability of the brain to function properly. If these drugs are combined with other depressants such as alcohol, heart rate and respiration can decrease at a dangerous rate.

Prescription Drug Abuse is Just as Deadly as Illegal Drug Abuse

Stimulants have negative consequences if taken repeatedly or in large doses as well. Stimulants, when abused this way can cause dangerously high body temperatures, anxiety, paranoia, irregular heart rate, and even seizures. Statistics show in the past year approximately 16 million Americans between the ages 12 or older have taken a prescription drug (e.g., opioid, stimulant, or depressant) for non-medical purposes not prescribed to them.

Prescription drug use for non-medical purposes has grown in the past five years in the United States, especially among teenagers and other vulnerable populations. Prescription drug abuse can lead to addiction and prescription drug addiction can have fatal consequences. If you or someone you know is abusing prescription drugs, seek help immediately.

At A Forever Recovery we provide the education, training, counseling and support you need to free your life from the negative influence of abuse.

Alcohol Addiction

There are hundreds of treatment centers for alcohol addiction located throughout the United States so all alcoholics can get the best help possible without having to travel too far, but some of these treatment centers for alcohol addiction do not offer nearly enough of the programs necessary for alcohol addiction recovery.

For instance, state treatment centers for alcohol addiction may offer help in the financial aspects, but they have an atmosphere resembling a hospital; this and the staff is only there to get paid makes for a disaster waiting to happen. Even some private treatment centers for alcohol addiction do not give the proper treatment for people dealing with addictions. Some do not offer a lot of options and then raise the prices sky high with promises of helping you overcome your addiction.

We Have Flexible, Committed Treatment Centers for Alcohol Addiction

A Forever Recovery offers dozens of treatment options and we also except many of the major insurance policies available. We only want to see every single one of our patients recover from their alcohol addiction and we strive for perfection with every passing day. If you or someone you care for is dealing with an alcohol addiction and not sure what treatment center for alcohol addiction is right for you or them, contact A Forever Recovery now. We can give you information about our facility and we will not pressure you to enter into our facility if you are not ready to do so.

Facilities like A Forever Recovery should feel welcoming and happy. When addicts are put inside of a hospital-like environment they will usually feel insecure, alone, and unstable which in the end causes them to not have a completely successful recovery over their addiction.

Setting and Comfort Matter

The inside of a treatment facility should embody a comfortable and enjoyable place. Tranquil colors, comfortable furniture, and calming pictures all make a person’s stay in a rehab facility more pleasant. The inside of the facilities will cause an addict’s mood to be positive or negative. Other than the inside of the treatment facility, one should also look at the outside of the facility. Are the grounds green and pretty? Is there views to look at and places to go whenever you have alone time? All of these outside factors play a role in the addict’s success over addiction. The inside and outside of the rehab are something every recovering addict should consider when choosing their perfect drug rehab program.

For the most part, treatment programs consist of several months of addiction treatment and therapy enabling the addict to live their life normally after they have left the addiction treatment facility. Some addicts suffer from long term addiction problems, whereas others suffer from short term addiction problems.

Treatment Programs for Long and Short Term Addiction

Long term addiction problems are the most common. Those who deal with addiction take a long time to admit their addiction is actually a problem. They spend months using drugs or alcohol without any concern to their health and their well being. These individuals eventually will admit they have an addiction, but by the time they do they will have suffered from internal and external health related problems. Treatment programs for a long term addict consist of mainly long term live in rehab, but in some cases the individual can choose other options.

Short term addiction problems occur mostly because the person only used occasionally and it never became a big problem. The family may have saw signs that it was becoming an issue in their life and stepped in and offered help. These addicts are in a better state of mind and are not in need of as serious treatment. They do need to choose a program which best fits their addiction, but long term treatment programs do not have to be their only solution. Only a small percentage of addicts fall in this category.
